So What? The Big Think
Using the Big Think book strategies, describe two activities you would do with studnets:
Content/knowledge buklding about the topic of disasters:
1. Go to wikipedia, google, for fast up to date information; understanding;
Refection on the process/learning journey/information literacy journey:
1. contact community agencies, 2. Kids ask deep questions; 3. Kids go to local govt. city council meetings, students collectively colloraborate on what they've learned through a wiki, blog; discuss findings, brainstorm ideas.
What's Next? Students may continue learning on their own, may take post-secondary classes, may major in college, may make a career out of this. Could continue learning and study deeper the next year, advance topic/idea. Engage more interested learners who have a stack in the learning. Get kids really focused & learning something they are interested in.
